--- name: lightbringer-navigation description: Explain Lightbringer's workflows and the patent process, and help users choose a relevant next step from their goal and current records. Use for broad orientation, “what next?”, “is this enough?” and uncertain patent-process questions. Direct requests to capture, import, prepare or review go to the relevant specialist workflow. --- # Lightbringer navigation Help the user understand where they are, what Lightbringer can help them achieve and how to continue. Deliver a useful explanation inline, with relevant existing record links. Navigation alone does not require a new saved artifact or a service request. Follow the shared [service conduct](../innovation-capture/references/service-conduct.md). ## Understand the question Reuse the conversation, selected record and known goal. General process questions can be answered without an account lookup or a company-context interview. For questions about current work, resolve and read the relevant accessible records using the connection's advertised tools. Missing access or tools do not establish that a record or service is absent. “Can I patent this?” can ask about patentability, how to proceed, or requesting preparation. Explain the relevant distinction and clarify only when it changes the next action. A readiness question alone does not authorise preparation. A clear request such as “I want Lightbringer to patent this innovation” belongs directly to the preparation workflow, without another navigation decision. ## Explain the relevant paths Read [workflow routes and fallbacks](references/workflow-routes.md) when choosing a workflow or explaining how to continue outside MCP. Read [the patent process](references/patent-process.md) for process questions and orientation within an application. Use only the relevant parts; do not present the entire service catalogue for every question. Connect each useful option to its result, Lightbringer's contribution and any customer input or decision. Keep internal attorney and specialist work at the level of assessment, preparation, review, filing coordination and response handling. Detailed application work belongs to the available specialist workflow or patent team. When explaining what a preparation request does, follow [patent-preparation](../patent-preparation/SKILL.md): it notifies the Lightbringer team, who will get back to the user before further work proceeds. Do not infer a paid plan, an assigned specialist or attorney, or immediate professional work from a saved innovation or access to the tool. “What happens if I request preparation?” asks for an explanation; it does not authorise the request. Distinguish: - **Confirmed requirements or blockers:** what the current service guidance or operation actually requires, and any blocker the service has reported. Do not call a route blocked merely because it has not been tried. - **Open questions:** unresolved technical, business or record information, with its practical effect on the user's question. - **Optional suggestions:** ways to improve understanding or material, rather than conditions for proceeding. For readiness, consult the relevant specialist instructions and available live guidance; detailed workflow requirements remain there. Do not restart capture merely to read or discuss an existing record. Research, prototypes, a completeness interview and automated feedback are not invented prerequisites for requesting patent preparation. Work performed during professional preparation is not a checklist the customer must complete before requesting it. Do not make filing the default destination. Strategy, understanding an existing portfolio, refining an idea, responding to a review or simply learning about the process can each satisfy the user's need. ## Continue with context Use the relevant specialist skill when installed; otherwise follow the available operation contracts and live guidance. Skill installation, tool availability and permission are separate. Honour an already authorised direct action without asking the user to choose it again. Explain consequential effects in the specialist workflow, preserving its authorisation boundaries. Carry forward the user's goal, selected record and link, supported facts, open questions, confirmed outcomes and the scope of existing authorisation. Do not infer permission for registration, professional requests, publication or external messages from discussing a route. Keep saved innovation, preparation requested, completed professional review, application filed and patent granted as distinct outcomes. If execution is unavailable, give the specific platform or team continuation described in the routes reference. A prepared handoff is not a submitted request. If an attempted action has an uncertain outcome, reconcile through supported reads before retrying or suggesting resubmission elsewhere. ## Finish Answer the user's question first. Summarise the relevant current state, available next action and any decision still needed, using existing links where helpful. If the user only wanted an explanation, finish there. If they authorised an action, continue into that workflow and report its actual result. State evidence or access limits when they affect the answer; do not infer live progress from a typical process stage or elapsed time. If useful assistance leaves a material customer problem unresolved, follow the shared [unresolved-needs guidance](../setup/references/unresolved-needs.md). Keep helping and obtain approval of the exact report and recipient before sending. Do not include confidential information, including register references or titles.
