# @liustack/pptwise ## 0.35.0 ### Minor Changes - 9007ce1: Breaking: `tag_row` is removed and three picture- and voice-carrying components take its place, so the IR now has 40 typed components. A row of bare labels was the answer a model reached for when it had nothing to say: every real use either had prose behind each label, which is a bullet list, or a picture and a line behind each one, which is a card. A page with `type: "tag_row"` is refused, in the IR and in a spec page's `focus`, with a message naming `bullets` and `icon_cards` as the two homes short labels actually have. There is no migration and no alias. `logo_wall` sets 4 to 12 organizations on equal tiles in one ink, with no frames and no hero, so the page says only that these names are together. A tile takes a picture through the same asset pipeline `image` and `image_grid` use, and falls back to the organization's own name set as a wordmark. `product_cards` puts 2 to 4 things side by side, each a required picture with a name, one line, and a price under a hairline, for a page someone is meant to choose from. When the asset pipeline hands back nothing the card leaves an empty ground marked `data-dropped` rather than inventing stand-in art. `quote_wall` stands 2 to 4 short remarks side by side with each speaker's initials, name and role, for the argument that several people agree rather than that one of them said it well. `blockquote` still stages a single remark at full size. Each of the three may single out one item, and singling out means filling that whole card in the theme primary with its text reset to read against it. `logo_wall` and `product_cards` span a multi-column arrangement and drop a column rather than narrow past the width their content stays readable at, so a box that cannot hold them makes the face step aside instead of printing cut names. - 48283b4: Four components join the IR, all of them for pages about numbers. `harvey_balls` scores three to six options against three to five shared criteria and draws each score as a circle filled none, a quarter, half, three quarters or full, so the reader finds the option with no weak column instead of reading twenty numbers. `scorecard` puts three to eight goals next to their targets, what was reached, the gap and a verdict in one of three tones, with the tone coming from the bound theme's own palette and the wording from the author. `pictogram` redraws one to three rates as ten figures each, filled to the count. `word_cloud` sets eight to twenty words in four sizes with a deterministic packing computed from measured text, so a Chinese word list and an English one pack by the same ruler and the same list lands in the same places on every run. None of the four ever cuts a word out of an author's text: each fits its lines before it paints anything, and a fit that would have to drop characters declines the box and declares the loss, which sends the page to a rendering with more room and stops the export if none exists. Each also declines rather than drawing below the size its own picture needs — a column too narrow to tell a quarter from a half, a figure too small to read as a person, a key whose words will not sit on one line. All four own the page they appear on, every one of the twenty-four themes draws them from its own tokens, and their headers and verdict words come in two scripts chosen from the drawing's own content, so a Chinese page never prints English column heads. - 227703f: Six new components for pages about how work moves. `staircase` draws levels that climb as real stairs, each tread a riser above the last. `chevron_process` cuts the stages of a pipeline as chevrons that bite into one another. `swimlane` runs one process across two to four bands of ownership and thickens the arrow where work changes hands. `journey_map` puts what a person meets, does and feels across three to six stages, marking the low point of the curve and the fix beside it. `decision_tree` writes the condition on every line out of a question and the cost of every ending. `from_to` sets two states of the same measures side by side with the move printed on each row. The component vocabulary goes from 38 types to 44. - 02c24c9: Six new content blocks draw the shapes an argument takes when it has levels. `org_tree` and `issue_tree` are the same three-level tree read two ways — one where a line means reports to, one where it means breaks down into — laid out by arithmetic rather than a solver, so the same content lands in the same place on every render. `pyramid` stacks three to six levels widest at the bottom and explains each in a legend beside it. `iceberg` prints one or two stated reasons in a tip and three to six unstated ones in the mass below a waterline, both inside the silhouette rather than in a side list. `pillar_model` carries one goal on a beam over two to five columns standing on a shared base. `value_chain` interlocks three to six links with two to four supporting bands above them and an optional closing wedge. Every cap is in the schema and stated in the block's own routing sentence: the trees stop at three levels and eight end points, and a box too small to draw one of these honestly declines the page rather than shrinking it into something unreadable, so a page design that cannot hold it steps aside. Highlighting is a filled block and white text — `issue_tree` and `value_chain` each take at most one mark from the author, and nothing else on the page competes for it. The content-block vocabulary is now 44 types, and the review gallery gains a 层级 family with a page for each on all 24 themes. - d7d4bc2: Six new components draw the shapes an argument takes when it is about how things relate. `venn` overlaps two or three sets as translucent discs so every pairwise overlap mixes its own tone, and names the shared region on a filled chip. `fishbone` runs a spine into a known result and hangs four to six cause categories off it, two or three causes each, every label horizontal. `positioning_map` plots four to ten subjects on two continuous dimensions with both ends of each axis named, and lets one of them be the subject of the page. `concept_equation` joins two or three terms with a plus and closes the line with an equals sign and a solid result panel. `segmented_wheel` cuts a whole into four to eight equal wedges around a hub, with one wedge able to be marked. `pros_cons` weighs one proposal in two columns, marks each point with a tick or a cross, and requires the verdict. Every cap lives in the schema and is stated in the component's own routing sentence: a fourth Venn circle, a second marked point on a map, or a category with one cause under it is a validation error rather than a drawing that claims something it cannot show. None of the six will cut an author's words to make them fit — every fit happens before anything is painted, and one cut anywhere declines the whole drawing with a kind, which sends the page to a rendering with more room and stops the export when none exists. The same goes for height: a drawing that would run past the box it was given declines instead of letting the page clip it. A `positioning_map` label that cannot find a clear spot after twelve tries is dropped and declared, so the export refuses the deck rather than stacking two names on one dot. Highlighting is a filled block with reversed text throughout, the tick and cross tell the two sides of `pros_cons` apart by shape since the themes carry no semantic red and green, and the wheel writes its wedges as ring sectors so the contrast auditor reads them rather than a bounding box. The component vocabulary is now 62 types, all 26 review tracks author the six relations these drawings are made of, and every one of them appears in the gallery's component band and in one theme's specimen deck. ## 0.34.0 ### Minor Changes - 3c04fbb: Every page design now carries a design story, and the review gallery shows one on every axis. All 134 registered page designs say in the same five fields what a theme, a content move and a content block already said: how the page arranges attention, which moves and content volume it serves, the viewing distance it is drawn for, and the closest wrong use. A theme's sparse dressing writes none of its own, because it is keyed by theme and page design and inherits the story of the design it dresses. The drift test that held themes, moves and blocks to a complete story now sweeps the page-design registry too, so a new page design cannot ship without its copy. The gallery renders the card on the 按讲法 detail (the eleven content moves already had the copy and showed none of it) and above the routing card on 按版式, with a Chinese translation for all 134 new entries and no untranslated fields anywhere. Seven built-ins also lost their second name: the label printed by `pptwise themes` is now the name on the design card, so Ink Wash is Ink, Editorial Journal is Journal, and five more agree with their card. Theme ids are unchanged and no rendered page changes. - 505c3d7: Breaking: the `citation` component is removed, and the IR now has 38 typed components. A list of references is document content, not slide content: it belongs to the PDF or the report a deck is presented alongside, and a page that stacked labels, refs and links was reproducing a bibliography on a screen nobody reads it from. Every component that rests on outside material keeps its own one-line `source` field, which stays the only form a source takes on a slide. There is no migration and no alias: a page with `type: "citation"` is refused, in the IR and in a spec page's `focus`, with a message that says the component was removed and where a source goes instead. The faces that offered it a body slot no longer list it, and the review corpus draws another component on every page that used to carry one. ## 0.33.0 ### Minor Changes - df72a2c: Every theme, page kind and component now carries a design story: a name, what it is and what it borrows from the real world, when to choose it, who speaks and who listens, and when not to use it. The stories live next to their definitions (`story` on a theme file, `KIND_STORIES`, each component module) and are checked in tests for length, complete sentences, and a naming rule: a name says how a deck speaks, never which industry it is for. The review gallery shows each story as a design card under its theme section and component detail, with a Chinese translation for all 74 entries. Public theme files are held to the same rule, so an id or label that names an industry is refused with the offending word. - df72a2c: A content page whose composition cannot hold its component in full now hands the page to a plain full-width sheet instead of losing content, as long as the sheet holds everything. The decision is made by rendering the real content path for both boxes and asking whether anything was dropped, so width, height and each component's own squeezing rules all count. Seventeen compositions take part, the handed-over page keeps its theme motif, branding and accent, and the cross-language overflow list is empty. Also fixed: the data faces of `brief` and `runway` painted two chart series in the same colour when reserving the theme accent, so two-series charts on those themes now read as two. - fa3e42d: Nine themes are renamed, and four keep their id but lose a label that named a customer. A theme name says how a deck speaks, never who it is for, so `consulting` is now `brief` (Brief), `academic` is `thesis` (Thesis), `insight` is `ledger` (Ledger), `tech` is `terminal` (Terminal), `enterprise` is `bulletin` (Bulletin), `classroom` is `homeroom` (Homeroom), `campaign` is `rally` (Rally), `pulse` is `clinic` (Clinic), and `terra` is `almanac` (Almanac). `crayon`, `arena`, `ember` and `runway` keep their ids and are now labelled Crayon, Arena, Ember and Runway instead of Kids Education, Esports & Entertainment, Startup Pitch and Fashion Runway. The five motifs that carried a renamed theme's word travel with it, so a copied theme file now reads `rally-motif`, `homeroom-motif`, `bulletin-motif`, `clinic-motif` and `almanac-motif`. The industry words move to where they belong: the occasions table still says business, education, finance, tech, health and sustainability, and every theme's positioning and audience still name the rooms it suits. A theme id is a public interface, so nothing is aliased and nothing is handed back. Naming a retired id fails wherever a theme is resolved (IR validation, spec validation, CLI lookup, built-in and preset lookup) and wherever one is created (the theme-file contract, `registerTheme`, install, preset copy, colour fork, `theme new --id`, `theme fork --id`), and every one of those errors says the name the theme became, so a deck moves over in one edit. Lookup refuses the old name before it searches, so a workspace file that kept it cannot answer to it either. No page changes: every rendered page in the review gallery is byte-identical to what its old id drew. ## 0.32.0 ### Minor Changes - Nothing in the review gallery drops content any more: every specimen draws its whole component, tall or wide components get a page of their own with an adjacency page beside a lead-in, and a guard test keeps the corpus at zero drops. Two engine faults surfaced on the way and are fixed — a flowchart edge label measured one width and painted a wider chip (labels now park on the whole gap first and only retry with chip padding), and image-annotate ate the colon it split a bullet on. The grid components (bmc, five_forces, pest, swot) regain their undersized-box compression: the old shrink floor had become a no-op when the type floor rose to 16, so a box a few percent short went straight to dropping items; now rhythm tightens while type holds. A cross-language capacity sweep renders every theme in English and mixed script and names the nine remaining overflows as a ratchet. ## 0.31.0 ### Minor Changes - A device mockup keeps its frame on every face: bleed takeovers that cannot draw the browser or phone frame step aside for a fallback that does, image-annotate hosts the framed device in its card, a device that is not the chosen bleed picture stays body content, and frame geometry never leaves its slot (controls scale with the body, a slot too small to draw declines). The browser frame keeps its 16:10 proportion instead of stretching to the slot. The review gallery's screenshots are now rendered by pptwise itself instead of an intentionally blurred AI image: a landscape dashboard for the browser specimen and a portrait 9:19 app screen for a new phone specimen, each with a reproducible script, provenance and recipe digests, header-level JPEG checks that work on any machine, and byte identity on the canonical one. - 7fd628f: A slide never says what it left out. The overflow count 0.30.0 taught chart legends to paint is gone: a chart names the series that fit and declares the rest, and no component, face or layout paints a count of what is missing, an ellipsis pill, or any other bookkeeping. Content that does not fit has two honest outcomes, the face declines so another one draws the page, or the loss is declared and `generatePptx` refuses the deck by default, until the author shortens the content or the caller explicitly accepts the loss with `--allow-dropped-content`. With no painted cut left anywhere there is no second, quietly exportable kind of loss either: `data-dropped` is the whole protocol, and every declaration names its own unit, so a chart that could not name fourteen series is refused with "14 series names" rather than "14 content blocks". The review gallery grades a declared drop as rework, over any verdict the vision pass returns, instead of passing a page that quietly lost its chart, and its fidelity scan credits a component that declined outright instead of reporting each of its fields as unexplained. ## 0.30.0 ### Minor Changes - Chart hardening from a fourth independent audit. Every chart type now draws in the height it is allocated (funnel, pie, donut, gauge and dumbbell used to pin themselves at 240px), a funnel measures one line per stage, and a radial chart's disc never grows past what leaves its label columns room. A single-category line or area centers its lone point and fits the tick inside the box. Direct labels protect the value: the series name truncates first, and a value that cannot print whole is a declared drop that stops the export, never a shortened number. Legend rows that cut trailing series paint a visible `+N`; otherwise the cut is declared and the export refuses. (Reversed in 0.31.0: no slide paints an overflow count, and every cut is declared.) Validate rejects empty pie/donut/funnel series and duplicate categories within a bar, line or area series, and the duplicate-category advisory says what each chart type actually does. Pie and donut leaders no longer hang past the block below (46 corpus pages). The review scanner checks each component against its own allocated height, transforms nested declarations like the ink beneath them, marks radial wedges as plot marks, and measures polylines segment by segment; the geometry-based gauge and donut wedge parsers handle half-turn and branch-cut edge cases. Text export keeps its indentation: `a:t` is a plain string in DrawingML, verified by an unzip test rather than a cargo-culted attribute. ## 0.29.0 ### Minor Changes - Charts keep their box and label their lines at the end. A chart now draws inside exactly the height it is given and declines loudly (export refuses) when handed less than its measured minimum instead of painting over the content below it, and the gauge-stats fallback band is sized for what it can hold. Line and area charts drop the legend row and label each series in a left and right gutter — `name value` at the line end, start value at the left — solved as whole columns with leader lines, so converging or sparse series never collide with each other, the line or the marker, and the plot yields width to the gutters with a floor. Validate refuses empty line/area series and axis tick gutters are capped and truncated instead of pushing the plot out of its box. Text export and the review scanner now share one SVG whitespace rule: default text collapses interior runs of blanks to one space (423 corpus nodes exported doubled spaces before), `xml:space="preserve"` code lines keep their indentation in PPTX, per-tspan overrides and ancestor inheritance are honored, and no-break spaces are left alone. The review gallery gains an ink-containment geometry scan that fails when any component's painted ink leaves its allocated rect, hardened through six review rounds (tracking, tspan positioning, dx/dy, nested scopes, whitespace modes). ## 0.28.0 ### Minor Changes - Review-hardening round from two independent logic audits. Validate now refuses what renderers silently guessed at: a pie, donut or funnel with a non-positive total or more than one series, a dumbbell without exactly two equal-length series, a flowchart edge naming a missing node, a boundary page with more blocks than its face's slot draws (validator and the sixteen cover/ending faces share one selection helper), and a `progress_donuts` value that is not a complete number with an optional percent sign. Theme copy, fork and brand extract carry the `emphasis` stroke, and a registered theme's `emphasisInk` must be visible on its own background. Faces render what they used to drop: the generic statement face sets both quote and attribution, show-figures sets subheading and footnote, statement/pull-quote/stat-hero list every citation source, the vertical kicker steps aside for a subheading it cannot stack, and horizontal timelines honor `highlight`. Radial charts and dense funnels declare the labels they leave out, image annotations and insight panels mark what they cut, ink's vertical setting keeps the stops it used to delete, emphasis runs honor letter-spacing and pick their ink against the panel they sit on, and exported text keeps the spaces around styled runs. The gallery gains a fourth review axis, 按版式, plus a per-theme skeleton strip and cross-axis jumps from the lightbox, and its fidelity scan can no longer be satisfied by a heading standing in for a component or by an unrelated drop marker. ## 0.27.0 ### Minor Changes - Latent polish round. Themes can name an optional `emphasisInk` color for `**emphasis**` runs when their accent sits too close to the text ink — stage takes the warm sand from its own chart palette, and a corpus rule now requires every theme's run ink to separate from its text ink by luminance or chroma. The academic stat-hero rule hangs from the numeral's measured ink floor instead of a frozen y, clearing old-style figure descenders for any value. show-spotlight renders the panel footnote and the page conclusion as two lines instead of one slot with two owners, insight_panel rows start where the panel budgeted them, and playbill's mono-bleed guards multi-image components and paints its kept picture's caption. ## 0.26.0 ### Minor Changes - The face fidelity contract now covers the whole corpus. Statement skins set the authored citation source instead of baked signature lines, gauge-point and crayonbox-point render the quote they used to drop, one-evidence and the takeover image family step aside for components they cannot represent instead of swallowing them, donut slices carry direct labels through the pie's leader-line gutter, dumbbell charts get a legend, numbered card sub-lines and bento KPI sources render, architecture layers declare per-item truncation, and the baked `Contact` ending label is gone. The fidelity scan runs on all pages for thirteen field paths with an empty exemption table; single-series chart names are the one path ruled as design absorption (the page heading carries the identity, multi-series regressions still go red). ## 0.25.0 ### Minor Changes - Faces render authored content completely or decline the page. Quote pages set the authored `blockquote.text` as the display line with the heading as a small context lead (previously the quote text was silently dropped and the heading conscripted); attribution comes only from the component. `stat-hero` steps aside when `kpi_cards` carries more than one item so a full rendering draws the page, and its kept pages now print the metric's label, unit and source. Cover and ending faces declare item capacities and validate rejects an over-limit list with an error naming the face and its cap. A corpus-wide fidelity scan guards the contract in CI. - Every component now has exactly one drawing. The per-theme form dispatch (badge cards, hex clusters, petal wheels, donut trios and the rest of the 21-form table) is removed: themes differ through tokens and faces, never by restructuring a component. Two forms grew into real components with their own routing criteria — `hub_spoke` (one center concept with 3-6 unordered satellites) and `progress_donuts` (completion-rate metrics drawn as rings, values validated to 0-100). The emphasis stroke (`pad` / `underline`) moved into the theme file as an `emphasis` field. ### Patch Changes - Pie slices and funnel bands are labeled directly beside the mark (name and value, with leader lines and column stacking on the pie), so a full-page radial chart no longer renders as unlabeled color fields. - CJK line-break prohibition: closing punctuation (》」、，。 and kin) no longer starts a line and opening brackets no longer end one, resolved by pushing the pinned pair to the next line inside the existing fit ladder. Latin wrapping is byte-identical. - `**emphasis**` runs in headings and subheadings paint as styled runs on every face and treatment through one shared fit-and-paint path; markers never reach width math or the page. Previously 76 of 130 faces printed the raw markers. - The rail-numbered face drops its left progress track (the chapter.n badge already carries the position; the track read as a stray vertical line across themes). The depth-contract partitioner now walks array children, fixing components whose fragments returned lists — ink's vertical quote attribution renders for the first time. ## 0.24.0 ### Minor Changes - 99e4015: The theme model is rebuilt from first principles. A deck is content bound to one theme: every content page declares a `kind` from an eleven-word vocabulary (points, list, comparison, process, data, photo, statement, quote, fact, evidence, hierarchy), and the bound theme's menu maps each kind — plus cover, chapter, and ending — to exactly one face. Rendering is a pure lookup: no seed, no weighted selection, no per-page layout or arrangement fields, and the same deck always renders the same bytes. Themes are workspace assets. `theme` is required (no silent default), resolved by name through deck directory, workspace `themes/`, then factory presets. `pptwise theme new` copies a preset into an editable file, `pptwise theme fork` re-derives a complete palette around new anchor colors through the contrast gates, and `pptwise theme try` renders a fitting-room contact sheet. Theme files publish atomically and exclusively (`--force` to overwrite). `--theme`, `--theme-file`, `--style`, partial style/brand overrides, the migrate tooling, and every v4-era compatibility path are removed; retired fields fail with messages that state the current format. ## 0.23.0 ### Minor Changes - e7767dd: Cartesian charts (bar, line, area, scatter) draw a left+bottom axis with ticks outside the plot. Axis titles sit under the drawing on one line: y-name with ↑, then x-name with →. Heatmap and matrix use the same pair under the grid. Scatter domains pad so points sit in the middle of the frame, not against the edge. Optional `axes.x_unit` / `axes.y_unit` print on the ticks. Bubble pages need a footnote that says what bubble area means. - ddef74e: Raise the readable type floor on the 1280×720 canvas to 12pt (16px) for captions, footnotes, ticks, and other secondary text, and to 18pt (24px) for body copy. Shrink-to-fit no longer drops below those sizes. Wrap that still overruns at the floor is clipped and marked, never drawn with an ellipsis. Validate's bullet length ceiling and the density table follow the new capacity. - Theme architecture round: one unified theme schema with two completeness levels — a `base` file (partial) reskins a builtin, a complete file picks its own faces per page type (pin-only board faces included), motif, tendencies, and sparse offers, with the same rights as a builtin theme. The old theme-file shape is rejected with a migration hint, and `brand extract` now emits the new partial format (base defaults to `consulting`). Reachability: every builtin theme now carries occasion tags and an identity band (`pptwise themes --json` prints them), theme suggestion routes on them deterministically, and the new `pptwise layouts [--json]` command lists every standard layout including pin-only faces. `pptwise preview --themes a,b,c` renders a contact sheet for side-by-side theme choice. Workflow: theme selection precedence is settled as `--theme` > `deck.spec.json` > project config > user config > default, loading a theme file registers it without selecting it, `pptwise serve` hot-reloads a changed theme file, and `audit` gains a `monotony` advisory for runs of consecutive same-type pages. Internally, `src/` is reorganized into business-domain directories and the skill's theme/layout reference tables are generated from the registry with a drift test. ### Patch Changes - 594d773: Academic pages no longer paint leftover decorative dots, and the ending kicker follows the language of the page. Stacked-poster drops the hairline under a photo. Mirror-volume chapter rules only draw when a subtitle sits between them. - 565adef: Flowchart back-edges route as a rounded U outside the forward corridor. Elbow radius is 16px. A typical five-node chart fills the content width. - 4da5d2e: Icon-card body copy is a step smaller than the card title (0.55) and the cell keeps 24px inner pad, so the supporting line no longer fills the card. - d32ba9a: Theme chrome and identity color no longer get the midground fade. A Swiss top bar, a memo rule, a vermilion head rule, and a luxe invitation frame paint in the foreground at the theme color. An ink vermilion seal stays under type but keeps cinnabar. Ordinary pattern still recedes under the 3:1 ceiling. - 73946b5: Ink pull-quote in Chinese now sets vertical type on the right with a vermilion opener, and a muted attribution column on the left. The motif yields the right-edge colophon on that pin and paints the remnant mountain as counterweight. - 888aec7: Insight ticker lines are now smooth Catmull-Rom cubics. The same control points still produce the same path. - 5bcd7bc: Consulting emphasis pads now follow the word like a marker stroke, with a content-hashed edge instead of a hard rectangle. Date lines and tag rows no longer use filled capsules, so they stop reading as web buttons. Playbill type-on-field is one step smaller. Heritage statement puts the line inside a four-corner viewfinder. - d47fbff: Midground decoration can no longer paint an isolated dot, circle, or tiny square. L1 flags the same class so it cannot leak back through a leftover motif or heading tail. - 41db0f3: Chart value labels that collide now stagger, indent, or drop (never an ellipsis). L1 flags leftover collisions. Band titles, quote rules, tech's star track, memo underlines, and rail badges also sit on their intended axes. - db26151: Cover kickers, invitation date rules, tag-row titles, chalkboard bylines, evidence-card headings, and bento card insets now share a 24px sibling-air / card-inset scale, so those neighbors no longer sit on each other. ## 0.22.0 ### Minor Changes - b7fedf3: Lecture draws a chalk underline under `**emphasized**` runs. The color follows the theme accent, or an explicit pad fill. Themes without this form keep the previous tint bytes. A hardcoded arc under the whole title is gone. - 1e3f0d7: Breaking rename: the product is now pptwise. The package is `@liustack/pptwise`. The CLI is `pptwise`. The skill is `skills/pptwise`. The DSH plugin is `pptwise`. `PPTPRESS_*` and `PPTFAST_*` environment variables remain aliases for `PPTWISE_*`, with the new name winning, then pptpress, then pptfast. If `~/.pptwise` is missing, `~/.pptpress` is copied when present, otherwise `~/.pptfast`. Old directories are left in place. Project config `pptwise.config.json` still reads `pptpress.config.json` and `pptfast.config.json`. Workspace default is `.pptwise`, and a leftover `.pptpress/` or `.pptfast/` is reused when present. - 295fd1b: The banner-heading content layout is retired. Pages that pinned `layout: "banner-heading"` should run `pptwise migrate`. Unpinned decks pick another content layout. The full-width frame rules, the layered distant mountains, and the old seal that collided with the bottom-right logo box are gone; that collision (a date measured at 1.07:1 against the seal) is fixed by the move. Because the colophon carries the organization and the date, ink's content pages no longer repeat them in the footer. Two costs come with that, both deliberate: the confidentiality label and version number live only in that footer row, so they no longer appear on ink content pages; and the colophon column holds 11 characters (17 when the deck sets no date), so a longer organization name is truncated and reported by `pptpress audit` as `content-truncated`. That limit excludes ordinary names — `Meridian Analytics`, `北京云帆科技有限责任公司` — because a per-character vertical column is a short-CJK-signature idiom. Not one of those names is an exported symbol — the JS internals carry no semver promise anyway (`docs/internal-api.md`), and the CLI, the IR schema, the deck project format and the exported SDK surface are all untouched. The one name that reaches the emitted `.d.ts` is the alias behind `ThemeDefinition["motif"]` (`MotifArchetypeId` → `MotifId`): it is not importable and its value union is unchanged, so nothing a consumer can write breaks. Two spellings of `archetype` deliberately stayed put, because changing either would change bytes: the `data-archetype` attribute in rendered SVG, and the `kind: "archetype"` literal in the layout registry. Both are noted in the code as fossils awaiting their own change. - f2ea9fe: Confidentiality and date stay off cover and ending meta rows unless the deck declares `chrome: "full"`. Author, role, and organization stay. Omitted chrome leaves those two fields off the cover by default. - 10e20ef: The agent skill now runs a one-round narrative interview before writing a spec. Four closed questions, a NARRATIVE_INTERVIEW gate that blocks the spec file while any axis is unanswered, and a packaged recommendation with a second candidate that differs in mechanism. - 50c69e4: Numbered-pills badges shrink to 0.8 of the pill row, and the left count disc scales into the remaining box. The 38% golden share is unchanged, and so is the rule that leftover height sinks below the block rather than above. - 155c704: The side-highlight content layout is retired. Pages that used its 176px primary side panel now pick another layout and use the full body width. - 62acaa9: Stop DSH Desktop from loading pptpress's sharp into the same Electron process as the host's sharp. Sixteen of seventeen themes cleared both floors and were never affected. The rendered color is unchanged on every theme — the fill opacity is now folded into the fill itself, which composites to the same pixels and lets the auditor read the color the page actually paints. - 8dca766: The agent skill now carries a Sparse-page contract: climax, quote, and evidence pages pin sparse pin-only layouts and put the spoken script in `slide.notes`. This is not a new `pacing` value. - 9f682c8: A deck with a `cycle` component exports again. Every `cycle` ever rendered was refused at the door: the ring is drawn around its own center, so half of its labels sit at a negative x in the group's local space, and the exporter sized their text boxes as if that local x were a position on the slide — producing zero-width and negative-width shapes, which the package audit rejects outright. The box is now measured after the group's transforms are folded in, which is the only point where the coordinate is a slide coordinate. Text lands exactly where it always did (the anchor was never the broken part), so no deck renders any differently — the shapes around the text are simply the right size now. `examples/team-onboarding.json`, shipped un-renderable since 0.19.2, renders. Every file in `examples/` is now covered by the test suite, so a broken one cannot ship quietly again. ## Unreleased ### Minor Changes - Rename the product from pptfast to pptpress. The package is `@liustack/pptpress`, the CLI is `pptpress`, the skill is `skills/pptpress`, and the DSH plugin is `pptpress`. `PPTFAST_*` environment variables remain aliases for `PPTPRESS_*`. Install docs are rewritten around this: the READMEs lead with the one line you forward to your AI, and manual install (`npm install -g`, building from source) drops to an INSTALL.md appendix for the rare case someone wants `pptfast` as their own terminal command. - e10f852: Add `pptfast doctor`: one command that says whether this machine's install is actually healthy, with no network call and nothing written to disk. The check that earns it is skill drift. An installed skill is a copy, and that copy keeps its install-time launcher forever, so `pptfast --version` can report something months newer than what the harness actually runs and nothing surfaces the gap. Skill drift, a stale dsh plugin, and missing optional capabilities are warnings and still exit 0, because the write-IR to validate to render flow keeps working through all of them. `--json` prints the same report machine-readably. ### Patch Changes - b6561e7: Revert the DSH plugin's v1 model tools and session attachments. The plugin is a single skill registration again. `pptfast_validate`, `pptfast_render`, and `pptfast_themes` did nothing the CLI cannot do, and each one cost a parameter schema, a collision-proof name, and an in-process loader to keep in sync with the render core. The first-page thumbnail the render tool pushed into the session is beaten outright by `pptfast serve`: one command opens a web page carrying every slide, reloading as the deck changes, with reviewer annotations coming back as `revision-request.json`. The component union itself is unchanged, still 37 types. `scatter` and `area` are cartesian, so they render axis titles, gridlines, and multi-series legends like `bar`/`line`. `gauge` and `donut` are radial: their arcs emit the same annulus wedge idiom the existing donut already uses, so deck-audit attributes a gauge's centered number and a donut's center total to the ring hole (the page background), never the opaque arc fill, verified by a zero-finding 16-theme contrast sweep. Every one of the five original subtypes stays byte-identical in its rendered output (golden-pinned). - a0d57bc: New component `tag_row` (the 38th): a wrapping row of 2-16 short label pills — a technology stack, a capability or skill set, a keyword set, the certifications a vendor holds. It closes the strongest clean gap in the internal invented-name evidence, where weak models across independent benchmark runs kept reaching for this exact component by name (`tag`/`pill` each in 2 runs, `chips`/`badge` each in 2, plus `chip_row`) and, finding nothing, either buried the labels in `bullets` or burned a whole slide brute-forcing dozens of non-existent type names. It is named after the models' own most-guessed name, the same way `logo_wall` was. An optional overall `title`, and an optional `emphasis: "first"` that draws the first tag in the theme accent as the primary one among the rest (the same field and semantics as `image_grid`). Rendering reuses existing machinery only: pills flow-wrap using the codebase's exact per-character width model, so a CJK/Latin-mixed label ("基于 Kubernetes Operator") is measured and wrapped correctly, and one uniform font size is picked as the largest that fits the height budget, with a single over-long tag truncated rather than allowed to overflow. A default pill is `colors.surface` with `colors.text` ink; the emphasized pill is `colors.accent` with a readable ink — both text colors clear WCAG 4.5:1 against their own pill on all 16 built-in themes (verified by a zero-finding contrast sweep), so the component renders no low-key `colors.muted` text and needs no contrast exception. `skills/pptfast/SKILL.md` and `SKILL.zh-CN.md` document the `tag_row` vs `bullets`/`row_cards`/`icon_cards` boundary (short labels versus described items versus a prose list) in both languages. The change is purely additive — one new component in the union, no change to any existing component's schema or rendered output. - c63b90a: Add `vermilion`, the 17th built-in theme — a solemn official-report register (工作汇报 / 述职 / 年度总结) and the first theme designed Chinese-first. Each item is a required `asset_id` plus an optional `label` (the organization's name, doubling as the logo's accessibility text when the asset carries no alt, and as the visible fallback if the asset is missing — never drawn on top of a present logo); an optional overall `title`. No grayscale/recolor option (retinting someone's logo is a trademark risk), no per-logo link, no size/weight tiers — every logo gets equal weight. 4 is a hard floor (for 1-3 logos use `image` or `image_grid`) and 12 a hard ceiling (past 12 each logo shrinks below a legible size — split across multiple `logo_wall` slides). ## 0.14.0 ### Minor Changes - e74334b: New `cycle` component (the IR's component union grows from 34 to 35): lays 3-8 stages out on a closed ring with arc-arrow connectors, for a process that has no endpoint — it loops back to its own start (PDCA, a product lifecycle, a flywheel, a seasonal cycle). Chrome colors are entirely theme-tokenized (no author-facing style options): the address-bar text renders at the same B-tier meta-information contrast floor (3:1, not the usual 4.5:1) a copyright line or page number already uses, since it's real but deliberately understated information, not page content. - 610b844: New `people_cards` component (the IR's component union grows from 35 to 36): lays 2-12 people out on an equal-weight card grid, each card a deterministic initials badge (derived from `name`, no photo asset needed) plus name and optional `role`/`org`. The badge's initials derive from a pure, independently-tested function (`deriveInitials`, `src/svg/components/people-initials.ts`): a Latin name takes the first letter of its first two words, a single Latin word takes its own first two letters, a CJK name takes only its first character (surname, never two). Badge fill color rotates through the theme's `chartPalette` by each person's own list index — deterministic, not seed-derived — with badge ink resolved via `readableOn` against each badge's own fill. `skills/pptfast/SKILL.md`/`SKILL.zh-CN.md` document the `people_cards` vs. `row_cards`/`icon_cards` selection test (is the content fundamentally about people) in both languages. ### Patch Changes - 104cb63: Fix a rendering defect in the `assertion_evidence` arrangement (`AssertionEvidence`, used by `narrow-column`/`quiet-frame`/`bento-panel` and any other content archetype that passes `slide.arrangement` through): when the enlarged "evidence" component's own measured height exceeded the space its budget left after reserving room for the supporting components below it, the evidence component rendered at full height anyway while the supporting stack still started where the (too-small) original budget placed it — the two visibly overlapped. Reachable with any `EVIDENCE_TYPES` member that carries a fixed or capped natural height (`device_mockup`/`image`'s shared 340px height cap, or a `chart` with axis-title/legend bands on top of its fixed plot height) alongside a support component tall enough to squeeze the remaining budget below that cap. Fix: the support stack now gets a hard, arithmetic-derived floor (enough room for at least one item plus its own "+N more" drop-pill, both fully inside the box), and any deficit needed to protect that floor comes out of the evidence side instead — evidence is scaled uniformly to fit its own budget, reusing the same measure→scale→center technique `content-image-lead-split.tsx`'s `renderVisualComponent` and `content-stacked-poster.tsx`'s `renderPosterSlot` already use for this exact "component might be taller than its box" problem (none of `image.tsx`/`chart.tsx`/`device-mockup.tsx` read `box.h` on their own). Every other case (evidence already fits its original budget) is untouched — same computation, byte-identical output. - 4c9a472: `fashion-masthead` (the runway cover archetype)'s org/date meta line now derives its ink through `metaInk` and carries `data-contrast-tier="meta"`, closing a leftover from the contrast-policy wave. It guarantees the B-tier 3:1 contrast floor against the primary block it actually paints on every theme — including `insight`, where the previous fixed-opacity dimming measured 2.886:1, a real miss no existing test caught. 15 of 16 themes render byte-identical output; `insight`'s meta line ink changes from `#621f28` to `#591d26`. The now-redundant `tech`/`fashion-masthead` contrast-audit allowlist entry is removed. ## 0.13.0 ### Minor Changes - d011fa0: `assets.images[].alt` now flows all the way to the exported PPTX: an `image` component whose asset has `alt` text exports it as the shape's standard accessibility description (`p:cNvPr@descr`, what PowerPoint's "Edit Alt Text" reads and writes). Two new `validate` hard errors, scoped strictly to pin-only layouts: `pin_only_over_capacity` fires when a pinned pin-only layout carries more components than its declared capacity (an ordinary layout pinned over capacity still only warns, unchanged), and `pinned_heading_overflow` fires when a pinned layout's heading still truncates at its minimum render size (quote-stage is the only layout that declares this check today). Both point to splitting the content or removing the pin.
