# Privacy policy for Punycode Notice Publisher: livingghost ## What the extension accesses Punycode Notice uses the browser's `tabs` permission to read tab URLs and tab identifiers. It checks the hostnames of HTTP and HTTPS URLs to choose an icon. When you open the popup, it shows the active tab's browser-normalized URL, including any path, query, and fragment. URLs can contain private information. This processing happens locally on your device. Tab information is used only to detect Punycode, display the current address, and respond to tab changes. The extension does not read or modify website contents, cookies, form fields, password stores, or the browser's saved history database. ## What COPY does When you click COPY, the extension writes the URL shown in the popup to your system clipboard. It does not copy automatically and never reads the clipboard. The copied URL remains subject to your operating system's clipboard history, synchronization settings, and access by other applications. Punycode Notice does not control those separate features or erase clipboard history. ## Storage, transmission, and sharing The extension does not persist URLs, keep a browsing log, or use local or cloud storage. Temporary tab and URL state exists only in memory while needed to run the extension. It makes no network requests and sends no URLs or other browsing data to livingghost or third parties. The extension has no account system, analytics, advertising, tracking code, remote code, or external runtime services. No extension-accessed data is sold, used for advertising, used for credit decisions, or made available for human review by the developer. Information is used solely for the user-facing features described above, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The same local-only handling applies in Microsoft Edge. ## Your choices Disable or remove the extension to stop further URL processing. There is no developer-held browsing dataset to request or delete. To remove copied URLs, use your operating system's clipboard and clipboard-history controls. ## Store, browser, and support services Browser updates, extension-store installation and review services, and GitHub are operated by their respective providers under their own policies. They are not network services used by the extension itself. If you voluntarily report an issue on GitHub, the issue and any information you include are handled by GitHub and are normally public. Do not post private URLs, credentials, or personal data. Public technical reports may be retained in the issue history; they are separate from extension browsing data. ## Questions and changes Contact livingghost through the Issues tab of the Punycode Notice repository from which you obtained this policy. Future changes to data handling will be reflected here and in the store disclosures before the corresponding release.
