**We do NOT collect any data.** Specifically:

- ❌ No personal information collected
- ❌ No browsing history tracked
- ❌ No text you highlight is stored or transmitted
- ❌ No analytics or tracking scripts
- ❌ No cookies from our extension
- ❌ No data sent to external servers

## How It Works

1. The extension runs entirely in your browser
2. Text-to-speech is processed locally using Chrome's Web Speech API
3. Your settings (voice, speed, pitch) are stored locally in Chrome's storage
4. No data ever leaves your device

## Permissions Explained

- **activeTab**: Required to detect text you select on web pages
- **storage**: Required to save your voice preferences locally
- **host_permissions (<all_urls>)**: Required to work on any website you visit

## Third-Party Services

This extension uses **Chrome's built-in Web Speech API** for text-to-speech. Google voices are processed by Chrome itself - we do not make any external API calls.
