Outline each chapter as claim, evidence and transition. Use ordinary scroll and sticky layout first; add synchronized timeline tools only when needed. Keep a coherent no-scroll reading path, visible focus, touch access and reduced motion. Test chapter changes at mobile and desktop widths. `fixtures/story` is the executable example.
