--- name: lifecycle-operations description: Improve activation, retention, expansion, churn prevention, and reactivation through behavior-based interventions with consent and measurable outcomes. --- # Lifecycle Operations ## Diagnose 1. Define the behavior segment and lifecycle stage; avoid vague personas. 2. Identify the missing value event, habit, feature adoption, payment issue, objection, or trigger behind the opportunity. 3. Use product events, cohorts, cancellation/failed-payment reasons, support, and customer evidence when available. ## Choose the lever The intervention may be product/onboarding, in-app guidance, email, notification, pricing/packaging, support, win-back, dunning, referral, or no message at all. Do not default to more email when product friction is the cause. ## Execute Define eligibility, exclusion, consent, frequency cap, content, timing, destination/action, measurement event, and stop rule. Follow autonomy policy for sending or creating automation. Protect unsubscribe/preferences and do not revive users through deceptive urgency. ## Measure Track the intended product/revenue/retention outcome and guardrails such as complaint, unsubscribe, support load, discount dependency, or downstream churn—not opens alone.
