# Additional Permissions under GNU GPL version 3, Section 7 Materializr is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (see [LICENSE](LICENSE)). As permitted by section 7 of the GPLv3, the copyright holders of Materializr grant the following additional permissions. These permissions apply to Materializr as a whole, including contributions merged into this repository (see "Contributor consent" below). ## 1. App-store distribution Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the GPLv3, you may convey Materializr, and covered works based on it, in object-code form through digital application distribution platforms operated by third parties — including but not limited to the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, and comparable platforms — even where the terms of service, usage rules, or technical measures of such a platform would otherwise conflict with the conditions of the GPLv3 (for example, restrictions on redistribution by users, cryptographic signing requirements, or the absence of Installation Information as defined in GPLv3 section 6), provided that: 1. the complete Corresponding Source of the conveyed version remains publicly available free of charge under the GPLv3, at or a successor location identified within the conveyed work; and 2. the conveyed work identifies where that source can be obtained (for example, in its About screen or store listing); and 3. you do not yourself impose any further restrictions on the rights granted by the GPLv3 beyond those unavoidably imposed by the platform operator's terms. ## 2. Linking with platform SDKs If you modify Materializr, or any covered work based on it, by linking or combining it with platform frameworks or SDKs that are required to build or run it on a given operating system — including but not limited to the Apple iOS/macOS SDKs and the Android SDK and NDK — containing parts covered by the terms of the platform vendor's license, the copyright holders of Materializr grant you additional permission to convey the resulting work. ## Scope and removal These additional permissions are granted under GPLv3 section 7. As that section provides, when you convey a copy of a covered work you may at your option remove these additional permissions from your copy; you may not add further restrictions. Charging for copies, and accepting voluntary donations or tips through a platform's payment mechanism, is already permitted by the GPLv3 itself and requires no additional permission — provided the Corresponding Source remains available as the license requires. ## Contributor consent Contributions offered to this repository are accepted under the GPLv3 together with these additional permissions. By submitting a contribution you agree that it is licensed accordingly. Contributors retain copyright in their contributions. ## Historical note Releases of Materializr through version 0.9.7.1 were published under the MIT License; code first published in those releases also remains available under the MIT License.
