Arcadia has always been a no smoking pub and is located in the Arndale building in the centre of Headingly. It is fully air conditioned and had a few Belgium beers on tap. They have a very good selection of bottled beers or which you can acquire a beer connoisseurs card which gets stamped every time you buy a bottled beer. After a full card you get a glass of your choice to take home. Arcadia is one of the few pubs on the stretch of Otley road that is worth a visit for real ale. Normally at the weekends, all the pubs are full with drunk students in fancy dress but Arcadia tries to keep the Otley runners out so you can enjoy a decent pint in peace. They also sell real ale takeaway cartons which you can have filled with 2 pints of your favorite beer to take home with you. You can find their website at

A group of 6 of us dropped in on Saturday lunchtime and were well fed & watered. I can recommend the 'greasy spoon special' of sausage, chips, beans and (optional) gravy as well as the Copper Dragon Black Gold.

Thorne Best and Leeds Midnight Bell in Arcadia

I had 3 ales in Arcadia. The stout was very nice and flavoursome. Space by Elland brewery was a nice strong ale (around 5.6%). I wasn't too keen on the Yorkshire Pale (it had a slight mushroomy taste and smell to it)

I tried each of the guests in the pub and all very very nice. I also took a 2 pint \"real ale takeaway\" with me of Guzzler
