The Babington is a JD Wetherspoon pub with the standard menu and pricing, but it has a huge emphasis on real ale. There are 18 handpumps and a real effort is made to keep 18 different beers on at all times. There are 6 standard beers 3 of which are house beers brewed by Wyre Piddle. Another pump is used for a range of special beers brewed by the excellent Falstaff brewery which is situated nearby. The remaining 11 pumps are given over to a constantly changing selection of guest beers from near and far, mainly from micro breweries. The pub is Derby CAMRA City pub of the year for 2008 an award it also won in 2005. Opening times Sunday to Thursday 9am to midnight, Friday and Saturday 9am to 1am. Food from 9am to 10pm every day.
