The Basketmakers is a lovely pub, always bustling, with a great range of Fuller's ales, as well as some lagers and wines (though why drink them when you have so many great beers to choose from?) They serve a lovely range of freshly made and cooked food - none of this heated up/ microwaved sh*te you get in some rubbish joints. The food is delicious - and there is a good selection of fish to vegetarian to carnivorous fare. Last time I had haddock fried in beer batter (beautiful); the previous time a sumptuous vege chilli. Generous portions of food; great beer; lovely atmos. The only problem can be getting there too late, to find the food has been eaten and all the seats have gone! Solution: I arrived a bit earlier the last time. New problem: getting up the next day! ;)
