Cracking old pub with lots of original features which has been tastefully upgraded without losing the character of the place. It's a little out of the way but none the worse for that. It has a real quality feel to it and it's food is several notches above most pubs in the area. As a free house it has a strong \"family run\" feel to it and that's meant in a positive way. They focus on local beers from Sussex so they're naturally very good. This is one of the best pubs in the area so give it a go if you're in the area.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the place had a good buzz about it. Most people were eating from a small but very accomplished menu. All food fresh and home-cooked to a high standard. Beer on superb form; just as the brewer intended! Harveys best bitter also available although not tried on this occasion. Great pub with lots of character without the dodgy characters.
