Okay, so this isn't a pub. It's not even got much of a bar and it doesn't serve anything resembling real ale. What it does have is a car park and it is here, during the weekend of the Rochester Sweep's Festival held every year over the May bank holiday, that the hotel puts on a beer festival. It's only little, say 20 to 30 ales and a few ciders, but there'll rarely be a bad pint (or, if you want to fit in with the morris dancers, tankard). With a small stage given over to folk bands and dancers and a scattering of garden furniture it can mean standing room only at very close quarters but you can always take your beer out to the High Street to watch troops from all over the country do their stuff. Oh, if you need the loo, nip down the other end of the car park to the public ones, quicker and better than the hotel's pitiful offering!
