One of the oldest and most characterful pubs in the area. Full of old beams, low ceilings, draughty doors and windows- what more could you want? Always has 2-3 guest ales on and usually always on good form- rare to get a duff pint. Does good food trade and has a small separate eating area if that's what you're looking for. Live music is usually on a Sunday and possibly a Wednesday too. Staff and customers are friendly and welcoming. Gents toilets need some serious upgrading-simply not good enough- don't know about the ladies loos. Worth a visit but just remember to go before you go!
