Ex-Vaux traditional ale house. Hidden away down near the river but still easily accesible from the town centre. Eight well kepts ales and a cider on handpump. Amazingly over sized lined pint and half glasses are used which is quite a rare find, unless you're at a beer festival. The interior should probably be listed as it looks as if it hasn't changed since the 50's although it's been looked after. Well worth a visit.

We had good service and a pleasant welcome at this gem of a pub hidden down near the river in Deptford. Being the first in at opening time, the landlady pulled a few halfs of beer off before serving our drinks. Beer was well kept and we were pleasantly surprised to see over-sized lined pint and half glasses being used, always a good sign.
