Good centrally located city pub, usually well stocked with real ale. Music is at a low enough volume so you can hear yourself think as well as have a conversation.

Had a great pint of Mordue IPA. Disappointed that there wasn't any Adnams Explorer, but the Mordue was well kept and well poured. Very friendly bar staff, landlord gave us extensive info on what ales he would have on over the weekend and brought a few samples in for us. Only downside is the price really, but for quality like this you really don't mind paying. Definitely not to be missed if you're drinking in Durham.

Had some excellent pints in the Market Tavern tonight, the Old Pec is a great well kept and served. Good atmostphere, and plenty of seating.
