Swanage is a great little place to spend a couple of days with most of the pubs serving good cask beers and i think the Red Lion is possibly the best.We spent an evening there and tried all four of the cask beers.There are four hand pumps but they are not used,they just have the brewery pump clips on them, while the beer comes stright from the cold room at the back of the bar.I am not used to beer being dispensed this way,i thought that it would go flat very quickly but the beers were real top class.I thought the .beer of the night was Palmers copper ale.We are planing a return visit in September.
