This long standing Wakefield landmark is a unique institution – Erected in 1966 it is an unpretentious wooden ex-army barrack building located near the city centre on Vicarage Street (Next to Trinity Walk Shopping Centre – Fredrick Street Entrance) Inside is a meeting place, a social club, a folk music venue and last but certainly not least, a multi-award winning bar. Winner of numerous CAMRA awards, both locally and nationally for well kept real beer, we have a rotating selection of traditional ales, well kept and at reasonable prices – plus a wide range of Belgian bottled beers, Perrys and Ciders. We are a popular Yorkshire venue for Folk Music Concerts, Poetry Readings and Open Mike Sessions. Full details of forthcoming events can be found on our website www.theredshed.org.uk Artistes at our monthly Concerts have included Martin Simpson, Emily Smith, Ewan McLennan, Steve Tilston and the Jon Strong Band. The Club was recently refurbished internally, but retains the character of the original building. New members and visitors are always given a warm welcome. Once visited never forgotten!! Membership £3 waged, £1.50 unwaged. Opening times Sunday to Friday 1900-2300 Saturday 1100-1600 and 1900-2300

A little real ale gem in modest surroundings in the heart of Wakefield. Very friendly atmosphere with guests and new members eagerly welcomed. Excellent beer quality with a rotating selection of local and national real ales. Also known locally as a prominent folk music venue in the Yorkshire music scene.
