The Rutland is possibly the most established real ale pub in Chesterfield Town Centre. It is a large friendly pub. The new owners took over just before Christmas 2009 and have alredy invested heavily in a refurbishment programme which is still ongoing.
They have a fantastic selection of real ales and a hand pulled traditional cider. Home cooked food is served all day Monday - Saturday and they serve a traditional Sunday Roast from 12-4 on Sunday afternoons. The Rutland is just about to start a programme of live music events, mainly concentrating on jazz and blues music. The Rutland is a great place to meet up with friends and sit in front of one of their log fires whilst sampling superb ales from their ever changing range.
