Took the steamer from Glenridding and after a pleasant, hour-long chug along Ullswater, we arrived at Pooley Bridge. I made a bee-line for the Sun Inn after a tempting review in the CAMRA beer guide, I was not disappointed. My good lady wife had a pint of Golden Host and a half of the Cocker Hoop. I had two pints of the Sneck Lifter, I was going to have something different for my 2nd but the Sneck was so amazingly tasty I had to have another. Very well kept and served beer. We also had lunch. The meal was from the bar menu and was quite good, I can recommend the Jennings and Steak pie.
