After opening in 2008 the ‘Exchange’ was taken on in June 2009 by Cherryl Poppit who turned it into the thriving community local it is today. With a great range of 5 or 6 of our beers complemented by an ever changing range of guest ales and a great locally sourced range of light lunchtime meals it is a delight to visit. In September 2011 we received the worst possible news, Cherryl had developed inoperable cancer and after a very short illness passed away on 21st Oct. She is hugely missed by her family, staff, customers and the community. The pub is being caretaker managed by Cherryl’s daughter Laura and her team and has the same warm welcome and shared goal of maintaining the great pub Cherryl created. We hope to appoint a new permanent manger in the new year. The Royal Exchange are the match ball sponsors for the Mens and Womens team at Aston Cricket Club.
