Pumpkin is a high-performance Minecraft server written entirely in Rust. It supports current Java Edition clients and includes work-in-progress Bedrock Edition support, TOML configuration, world saving, Query, RCON, permissions, and an evolving plugin system. No Java runtime or Mojang server JAR is required.
Pumpkin is under heavy development and the official latest image tracks the upstream development branch. Back up the complete data directory before upgrading. Game behavior, configuration, plugins, and world compatibility may change before the 1.0 release.
On first launch, Pumpkin creates its configuration and world data beneath /pumpkin. Stop the container before editing generated TOML files in the config directory. Java Edition listens on TCP 25565 by default. Query uses UDP 25565, Bedrock uses UDP 19132, and RCON can optionally use TCP 25575 after it is enabled and secured in the generated configuration.
This template runs Pumpkin as Unraid's nobody/users account and applies upstream's read-only root filesystem, dropped capabilities, and no-new-privileges settings. The /pumpkin data mount remains writable.
