This Privacy Policy explains how FreshTrack collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app. FreshTrack is a grocery expiry tracking app that lets you create an account, store grocery items, save expiry dates, and receive expiry reminders.

## Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

- Account information such as email address and password authentication data
- Optional profile information such as display name
- Grocery data you enter, including item names, categories, expiry dates, reminder settings, and related notes
- Household data, including household names, selected household icons, household memberships, invitations, member email addresses, and household activity logs
- Notification-related identifiers such as a OneSignal external user ID or device token, if used for push notifications
- App usage and technical data such as logs, error information, device type, and basic analytics data if enabled later

## How We Use Information

We use your information to:

- Create and manage your account
- Store and sync your grocery items
- Create and manage households and household memberships
- Deliver household invitations and show shared groceries, members, and activity logs to household members
- Show expiry reminders and notifications
- Improve app reliability and fix bugs
- Detect and prevent abuse or misuse of the app

## Services We Use

FreshTrack uses third-party services to operate the app:

- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend functions
- OneSignal for push notifications
- Google ML Kit for on-device OCR and scanning features
- Open Food Facts for barcode lookup

These services may process data on our behalf according to their own policies and terms.

## OCR and Barcode Features

FreshTrack may use on-device OCR to help read expiry dates and may use barcode lookup services to identify grocery products. OCR results can be inaccurate. Users should always review results and remain responsible for checking food safety themselves.

## Notifications

If you enable notifications, FreshTrack may send reminders about items that are expiring or have expired. Notification delivery may involve OneSignal and related device identifiers.

## Household Sharing

FreshTrack lets you create households and invite other registered users by email. When you invite or join a household, the email address associated with your account may be visible to the other members of that household. Members of a household can see the groceries stored in that household and may add, edit, or delete shared groceries. Members can also see the household member list and activity logs describing changes made in the household. Household information is only shared with members of that household and the service providers needed to operate the feature.

## Data Retention

We keep your account and grocery data while your account is active. You can delete your account and grocery data yourself in the app, and when you do, it is permanently removed.

## Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the app, such as Supabase and OneSignal, and only as needed to provide the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or abuse.

## Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials private.

## Your Choices

You may:

- Stop using the app
- Disable notifications on your device
- Leave a household or decline a household invitation
- Delete your account and grocery data yourself in the app

## Children

FreshTrack is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date at the top of this page or notify you in the app.
