# Grateful Dead Magenta

## Visual Elements

Earring of a dancing / walking bear in deep magenta.

## Cultural Context

The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965, known for their improvisational live performances, psychedelic sound, and dedicated fanbase, the "Deadheads." Blending rock, folk, blues, and jazz, they became counterculture icons, led by Jerry Garcia until his death in 1995.

<!-- justification
## Justification

Same iconic dancing bear, different colorway. The Grateful Dead's influence on rave and counterculture is deep enough to warrant multiple variants in the collection.
