# ketamine kneecap up the ra balaclava

## Visual Elements

a balaclava in the Irish flag colour and pattern; green, white, orange.

## Cultural Context

The Irish tricolor balaclava references the intersection of Irish republican paramilitary imagery and contemporary rave culture in Ireland. "Up the RA" (referring to the IRA) is a phrase that has been adopted, often controversially, as a chant in Irish nightlife and festival scenes. Ketamine became one of the most prevalent drugs in Irish rave culture in the 2010s and 2020s, and "Kneecap" is an Irish-language hip-hop group from Belfast known for provocative political content.

<!-- justification
## Justification

Irish rave culture, republican imagery, and ketamine all collide in one balaclava — this is the raw, unfiltered overlap of political identity and party culture that defines the Irish scene.
