# Reindeer

## Visual Elements

Line doodle of a reindeer, small in size.

## Cultural Context

The reindeer is the foundation of Sami survival — food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and spiritual identity all flow from one animal. The Sami (indigenous people of northern Scandinavia and Russia) have herded reindeer for thousands of years, migrating seasonally across the Arctic as *bozaovazzi* (reindeer walkers). This tattoo represents the Sami ancestor lineage through the single relationship that has defined their culture across millennia.
