# Men Illegal

## Visual Elements

White t-shirt with black lining on the neck and both ends of sleeves, and a writing that says “-on’t wait until -men are illegal”.

## Cultural Context

Provocative feminist slogan tees have circulated in activist and underground fashion since the riot grrrl movement of the early 1990s. The partially obscured text format adds an element of mystery that forces the reader to fill in the blanks.

<!-- justification
## Justification

The partially hidden text forces you to read it twice and think about it. Provocative feminist slogans are part of the same counterculture lineage as every other protest shirt in the collection.
