# Bong Bear 50

## Visual Elements

White bear with a muted light blue mohawk, and a headband in similar but slightly darker tone and with marijuana leaves pattern on it. The bear is wearing long sleeves with white stripes on each sleeve, and an inner t-shirt in lighter but monochromatic shade, with purple marijuana leaves as a pattern. The bear is also wearing a neck chain with peace-sign symbol and is holding a brown joint / rollie. A plushie based on [this Bong Bear](https://opensea.io/assets/ethereum/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/66075445032688988859229341194671037535804503065310441849644897916016452960257).

## Cultural Context

Bong Bears is one of the earliest and most recognized NFT collections in the Berachain ecosystem, created as bear-themed characters on Ethereum's OpenSea platform before Berachain launched its own chain. The collection features a roster of stylized, cannabis-culture-inspired bears each with unique outfits, accessories, and color schemes. Bong Bears helped establish the bear identity that became central to Berachain's community branding, making them a foundational piece of the ecosystem's cultural history.

## Justification

As one of the OG Berachain ecosystem collections, Bong Bears appearing as held-item plushies in Mibera is a direct nod to the shared bear lineage that ties these communities together.
