# Bong Bear 8

## Visual Elements

Brown bear with pastel mohawk in a combined color of blue-grayish and pink, and an unbuttoned shirt in the gradient of dark blue, grey, pink, and white (in order from top to bottom). The bear is also wearing a gold chain with a peace sign as the charm; a circle with a line going down in the middle and a pair of shorter diagonal lines on each bottom side. The bear is holding a burger and can be seen having a mouthful of the food in its mouth. A plushie based on [this Bong Bear](https://opensea.io/assets/ethereum/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/66075445032688988859229341194671037535804503065310441849644897869836964593665).

## Cultural Context

Bong Bears is one of the earliest and most recognized NFT collections in the Berachain ecosystem, created as bear-themed characters on Ethereum's OpenSea platform before Berachain launched its own chain. The collection features a roster of stylized, cannabis-culture-inspired bears each with unique outfits, accessories, and color schemes. Bong Bears helped establish the bear identity that became central to Berachain's community branding, making them a foundational piece of the ecosystem's cultural history.

## Justification

As one of the OG Berachain ecosystem collections, Bong Bears appearing as held-item plushies in Mibera is a direct nod to the shared bear lineage that ties these communities together.
