# Bong Bear 90

## Visual Elements

White bear wearing a bucket hat and a hoodie in the same color and pattern of rainbow stripes; horizontal stripes on the hat and diagonal on the hoodie. Both have a very light graphic of marijuana leaf in the center. The bear is also holding a white joint / rollie and is wearing an iridescent-coloured frame with pointy shapes on each end, and pressed oval-shaped glasses in light red. A plushie based on [this Bong Bear](https://opensea.io/assets/ethereum/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/66075445032688988859229341194671037535804503065310441849644897959996918071297).

## Cultural Context

Bong Bears is one of the earliest and most recognized NFT collections in the Berachain ecosystem, created as bear-themed characters on Ethereum's OpenSea platform before Berachain launched its own chain. The collection features a roster of stylized, cannabis-culture-inspired bears each with unique outfits, accessories, and color schemes. Bong Bears helped establish the bear identity that became central to Berachain's community branding, making them a foundational piece of the ecosystem's cultural history.

## Justification

As one of the OG Berachain ecosystem collections, Bong Bears appearing as held-item plushies in Mibera is a direct nod to the shared bear lineage that ties these communities together.
