# ayahuasca dose

## Visual Elements

a piece of leaf in dark green facing down.

## Cultural Context

Ayahuasca is a psychedelic brew combining DMT-containing plants with MAO inhibitors, developed by Indigenous Amazonian peoples over centuries. The fact that they discovered this precise pharmacological combination without modern chemistry speaks to a depth of botanical knowledge that science is still catching up to.

<!-- justification
## Justification

Proof that Indigenous pharmacology was centuries ahead of Western chemistry. The collection honors the source traditions, not just the modern rediscovery.
