# cassette

## Visual Elements

a black cassette tape.

## Cultural Context

Mixtapes on cassette were how rave culture spread before the internet, with DJs recording live sets and passing them hand to hand. A single tape could travel across a city and build an entire underground following.

<!-- justification
## Justification

Before SoundCloud, before Napster, before CDs — the dubbed cassette was the internet of underground music. Every scene in the collection owes its spread to this format.
