# cigar

## Visual Elements

a brown lighted-up cigar.

## Cultural Context

The cigar carries associations of celebration, power, and old-world indulgence that contrast with the DIY ethos of rave culture. It represents the establishment's recreational drug of choice sitting next to the counterculture's.

<!-- justification
## Justification

The establishment's vice sitting next to the counterculture's. The collection doesn't pick sides in the drug hierarchy — it documents the full range.
