# rape sourcebook

## Visual Elements

a black book with with big title that reads “Rape” followed with smaller subtitle that reads “THE FIRST SOURCEBOOK FOR WOMEN”- underneath is red text that reads “BY NEW YORK RADICAL FEMINIST”. At the far end of the book cover are details on the editors.

## Cultural Context

"Rape: The First Sourcebook for Women" was published in 1974 by New York Radical Feminists, one of the earliest comprehensive texts addressing sexual violence from a feminist perspective. Its inclusion alongside other radical texts (Anarchist Cookbook, Capitalist Realism, CCRU writings) reflects the collection's practice of cataloging confrontational literature across the political spectrum.

## Justification

The collection catalogs confrontational literature across the political spectrum — anarchist, accelerationist, and feminist. This 1974 radical feminist text sits alongside the Anarchist Cookbook and CCRU writings as a document that refused to be polite.
