[Proton](https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/) is a tool for use with the Steam client which allows games which are exclusive to Windows to run on the Linux operating system. It uses Wine to facilitate this.

[Protontricks](https://github.com/Matoking/protontricks)  is a wrapper script that allows you to easily run [Winetricks](https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks) commands for Steam Play/Proton games among other common Wine features, such as launching external Windows executables.
