# Privacy Policy

BlipBlobb ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by FroggyEye. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use BlipBlobb on iOS and Android.

## Summary

BlipBlobb is an offline-first chat app. Your messages stay on your local network. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or transmit any data to us.

## Information We Do Not Collect

- No account registration or login
- No names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- No location data
- No analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No cookies or web tracking

## Information Stored on Your Device

BlipBlobb generates the following data locally on your device during use:

- **Temporary user ID**: A random identifier generated each session to distinguish participants in a chat room. This is never sent to any server.
- **Chat messages and images**: Messages and images are transmitted directly between nearby devices over Bluetooth LE or local WiFi. They are encrypted end-to-end and are not stored persistently after the session ends.
- **Encryption keys**: Generated per session for message signing and encryption. These exist only in memory and are discarded when you leave a room.

## How Communication Works

All communication in BlipBlobb occurs directly between devices on the same local network or within Bluetooth range. Specifically:

- **Bluetooth LE**: Messages are sent directly between devices using Bluetooth Low Energy. No internet connection is used.
- **Local WiFi**: Messages are sent over your local WiFi network using mDNS discovery and WebSocket connections. Data never leaves your local network.

No data passes through our servers or any third-party servers.

## Permissions

BlipBlobb requests the following device permissions:

All permissions are optional and requested at the time of use. The app functions with reduced features if permissions are denied.

## In-App Purchases

BlipBlobb offers an optional in-app purchase to unlock the private rooms feature. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store any payment information.

## Third-Party Services

BlipBlobb does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party services involved are:

- **Apple App Store / Google Play Store**: For app distribution and in-app purchase processing. Their respective privacy policies apply to those transactions.

## Children's Privacy

BlipBlobb does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we do not collect data, no special provisions are required under COPPA or similar regulations.

## Data Retention

BlipBlobb does not retain any user data. Chat messages exist only during an active session and are discarded when you leave a room. No data is stored on our servers because we do not operate any servers.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
