FroggyEye ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SolarWise mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

## 1. Information We Collect

### Information You Provide
- **Location coordinates**: You manually enter latitude and longitude or select a country to calculate solar irradiance. We do not access your device's GPS or location services.
- **Solar configuration data**: Roof details, energy consumption, panel preferences, and battery settings you enter into the calculator. This data is stored locally on your device only.

### Information Collected Automatically
- **Advertising data**: For users on the free tier, our advertising partner Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID/IDFA), usage data, and diagnostic information for the purpose of serving and measuring ads. This data is collected by Google, not by us. See [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- **Purchase data**: When you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive confirmation of your purchase status but do not access your payment details.

### Information We Do NOT Collect
- Names, email addresses, or account credentials
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
- Browsing or search history

## 2. How We Use Information

- **Solar calculations**: Your manually entered coordinates are sent to the NASA POWER API (a free, public US government service at power.larc.nasa.gov) to retrieve solar irradiance data for your location. No personal identifiers are included in this request.
- **In-app purchase verification**: Your purchase status is cached locally on your device to determine whether Pro features should be unlocked.
- **Saved configurations**: When you save a solar configuration, it is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. It is never uploaded to any server.

## 3. Third-Party Services

Our App uses the following third-party services:

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party.

## 4. Advertising

The free tier of SolarWise displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. On iOS, you will be asked for consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before any tracking occurs. You can opt out of personalized ads:

- **iOS**: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- **Android**: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

SolarWise Pro users do not see any advertisements.

## 5. Data Storage and Security

- All solar configuration data and preferences are stored locally on your device.
- No data is stored on our servers. We do not operate a backend server or database.
- All network communications (NASA API, ads, purchases) use HTTPS encryption.
- Purchase status is cached locally to allow offline access to Pro features.

## 6. Children's Privacy

SolarWise is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

## 7. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- **To delete all data**: Uninstall the App. This removes all saved configurations, preferences, and cached data.
- **To delete saved configurations**: Use the delete function within the Saved Configurations screen.
- **Ad-related data**: Contact Google directly regarding data collected by AdMob.

## 8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (we hold none on our servers)
- Request deletion of your data (uninstall the App)
- Opt out of personalized advertising (see Section 4)
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

### For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)
We process data based on legitimate interests (providing the App's functionality) and consent (advertising). You may withdraw consent for personalized ads at any time through your device settings.

### For California Residents (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. The App collects minimal data as described above. You have the right to know what data is collected and to request its deletion.

## 9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
