**LaunchTab** is a free, open-source browser new tab dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use LaunchTab.

## 1. Our Core Privacy Principle

**Your data stays on your device.**

LaunchTab is designed with privacy-first architecture. Almost all your data is stored locally in your browser.

## 2. What Data We Store

### 2.1 Local Storage (Your Browser Only)

The following data is stored **exclusively** in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB:

- **Shortcuts** - Your custom website shortcuts and their settings
- **Notepad Content** - All notes you create
- **AI Agent Profiles** - Your AI agent configurations (API keys, rules, etc.)
- **App Settings** - Theme preferences, clock settings, layout options
- **Background Images** - Custom wallpapers you upload (stored in IndexedDB)
- **Search History** - Your recent searches (if enabled)

**This data never leaves your device** and we have no access to it.

### 2.2 AI Provider API Keys

- Your AI provider API keys (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google, etc.) are stored **only** in your browser's local storage
- These keys are **never** sent to our servers
- API calls go directly from your browser to the AI provider's servers

## 3. Optional Analytics

### 3.1 Anonymous Visit Counting

We collect minimal, anonymous analytics:

- **Site visit counter** - A simple count of how many times the app has been loaded (no personal data)
- **Optional feature usage** - Completely anonymous metrics to understand which features are popular

### 3.2 What We DON'T Collect

- No personal identifiers
- No IP addresses stored with user data
- No browsing history outside the app
- No AI conversation content
- No API keys
- No notes or shortcuts

## 4. Third-Party Services

When you use AI features, your data flows directly to:

### 5.1 Local Security

- All local data is subject to your browser's security model
- We recommend using a modern, updated browser
- Data persists until you clear browser storage

### 5.2 Export/Import

- You can export your profile as a JSON file
- Keep exported files secure as they contain your settings and API keys

## 6. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

- **Export**: Download all your data anytime via Settings
- **Delete**: Clear browser storage to remove all data
- **Control**: All settings are managed by you locally
