# Editor configuration

The repository includes a {searchfox}`\.editorconfig <.editorconfig>` file at the root that configures
indentation and other formatting settings for all major editors. Most editors
support EditorConfig natively or via a plugin (see [editorconfig.org](https://editorconfig.org)). Do not add Emacs or Vim modeline comments to
new files.
