[← README](../../README.md) · [Docs index](../README.md) · [The preview pane](README.md) # Safety, speed and limits Previews show other people's files: downloads, attachments, repositories you have just cloned. So no preview runs a script from a file, writes next to it, or reaches the network on its own. And the pane stays quick: heavy libraries load only when a file needs them, and large files are shown in part. ![The desktop app with launch-news.html, a page saved from the web, under the cursor in ~/Downloads: the preview shows it with its own stylesheet beside it and empty boxes where its pictures on the web would be](../screenshots/previews-safety.png) ## Contents - [How to use it](#how-to-use-it) - [What a preview never does](#what-a-preview-never-does) - [Speed](#speed) - [Limits](#limits) - [Settings and config.toml](#settings-and-configtoml) - [In the terminal app](#in-the-terminal-app) - [Questions](#questions) ## How to use it Nothing to do: all of this holds for every preview.
