NAUTILUS FREE LOSSY features three dancers and a birdlike portal that transforms into a puppet over a backdrop of audio and sung text composed by the artist. The birth of a universe, of consciousness, and what follows are implied. The notion of a threshold recurs spatially, between mediums and materials, and in the shift from the nonverbal to verbal and linguistic. Ultimately, the divine ambition of creation and the great futility of the effort collide and conjoin.
