--- comments: true tags: - beverage --- # :coffee: Old Irish Coffee ![Old Irish Coffee](../assets/images/old-irish-coffee.jpg){ loading=lazy } ## :salt: Ingredients - :tumbler_glass: 2 oz Irish Whiskey - :coffee: 5 oz strong hot coffee - :maple_leaf: 2 tsp [brown sugar][1] - :icecream: some whipped cream ## :cooking: Cookware - 1 Galway Irish Crystal glass ## :pencil: Instructions ### Step 1 Preheat the Galway Irish Crystal glass with hot water (place a spoon in the glass to avoid shattering). ### Step 2 Pour in 2 oz of good Irish Whiskey. ### Step 3 Pour 5 oz of strong hot coffee over the whiskey. ### Step 4 Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of brown sugar and stir well, making sure that the sugar is dissolved. ### Step 5 Add whipped cream to top. Do not stir after adding the cream. !!! note The true flavor of Irish coffee is obtained by drinking the mixture through the cream.
