# :cupcake: Mom's Buttercream Frosting

## :salt: Ingredients

- :candy: 1 lb confectioner's sugar
- :butter: 0.33 cup soft butter
- :glass_of_milk: 0.25 cup milk
- :salt: 0.25 tsp salt
- :ice_cream: 1 tsp vanilla

## :cooking: Cookware

- 1 large bowl
- 1 electric mixer

## :pencil: Instructions

### Step 1

In a large bowl, with electric mixer at low speed, combine confectioner's sugar, soft butter, milk, salt, and vanilla.

### Step 2

Beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes, until creamy. If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.

### :chocolate_bar: Chocolate

Add 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, beat an extra minute.

### :lemon: Lemon Frosting

Replace milk with 1/4 cup lemon juice, add 1 tsp lemon zest.

### :orange_circle: Orange Frosting

Replace milk with 1/4 cup orange juice. Add 1 tsp orange zest.

### :rice: Sour Cream

Add 3 Tbsp sour cream, beat an extra minute.
