--- comments: true tags: - side --- # :shallow_pan_of_food: Pearl Couscous ![Pearl Couscous][1]{ loading=lazy } | :fork_and_knife_with_plate: Serves | :timer_clock: Total Time | |:----------------------------------:|:-----------------------: | | 6 | 14 minutes | ## :salt: Ingredients - :olive: 2 Tbsp olive oil - :shallow_pan_of_food: 1 cup pearl couscous - :stew: 1.5 cups water or vegetable broth - :salt: some kosher salt - :herb: 0.25 cup parsley (optional) - :lemon: 1 lemon zest (optional) ## :cooking: Cookware - 1 medium saucepan ## :pencil: Instructions ### Step 1 In a medium saucepan, heat about 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil over medium-high until just shimmering. Add the pearl couscous and toss around to toast (the couscous pearls should turn a nice golden brown). ### Step 2 Boil 1.5 cups of water or vegetable broth and add it to the toasted pearl couscous. Season with kosher salt. ### Step 3 Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to low. ### Step 4 Cover and cook for about 14 minutes or until the pearl couscous is tender. ### Step 5 Remove from the heat. ### Step 6 Season and enjoy!
