--- comments: true tags: - vegetarian - chetna-makan - indian --- # :garlic: Garlic Chana Dal ![Garlic Chana Dal][1]{ loading=lazy } | :fork_and_knife_with_plate: Serves | :timer_clock: Total Time | |:----------------------------------:|:-----------------------: | | 4 | 1.08 hours | ## :salt: Ingredients - :falafel: 400 g dal (split chickpeas) - :droplet: 1500 g water - :curry: 1 tsp turmeric - :salt: 1.5 tsp salt - :butter: 3 Tbsp ghee or oil - :herb: 1 tsp cumin seeds - :garlic: 8 cloves garlic - :hot_pepper: 1 tsp chili powder - :leafy_green: 1 large handful coriander ## :cooking: Cookware - 1 pan ## :pencil: Instructions ### Step 1 Give the dal (split chickpeas) a rinse. Place them in a pan with 1500 ml of water, turmeric powder, and salt. Bring it to a boil and then cook for 1 hour. ### Step 2 Add 3 Tbsp of ghee or oil to hot a pan. Add the cumin seeds and thinly sliced garlic. Cook for 3 minutes or until golden. ### Step 3 Add the chili powder and coriander. Stir through and then add the dal.
