# Licensing

Current ZapTrace project-authored source code is licensed under the
[PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0](LICENSE).

This is a source-available, noncommercial license, not an OSI-approved
open-source license. Commercial use of current project-authored code requires a
separate written commercial license from the copyright holder. See
[COMMERCIAL-LICENSING.md](COMMERCIAL-LICENSING.md).

## Earlier MIT releases

Versions and source revisions already released under the MIT License remain
available under the MIT terms that applied when they were published. This
change is prospective and does not revoke rights already granted for those
previously published MIT-licensed versions.

## Third-party material

Third-party dependencies and vendored materials keep their own licenses. In
particular, REUSE overrides preserve CC-BY-SA-4.0 for the KiCad/SparkFun-derived
content and MIT for the pinned Mitayi benchmark fixture.
