## Trademarks

The following are trademarks of Octasoft Ltd:

- "WSL UI" (the product name)
- "Octasoft" (the company name)
- The WSL UI logo and associated branding assets

## Usage Guidelines

### Permitted Uses

You may:

- Refer to this project by name when discussing or reviewing it
- State that your project is "based on WSL UI" or "forked from WSL UI"
- Use the name in academic or journalistic contexts

### Required Changes for Forks

If you create a fork or derivative work, you MUST:

1. **Remove or replace all Octasoft branding** - including logos, icons, and
   splash screens
2. **Choose a different product name** - your fork cannot be called "WSL UI" or
   any confusingly similar name
3. **Update all references** - ensure package names, window titles, and
   documentation reflect your new branding
4. **Not imply endorsement** - do not suggest that Octasoft Ltd endorses or is
   affiliated with your fork

### Prohibited Uses

You may NOT:

- Use "WSL UI" or "Octasoft" as the name of your fork or derivative
- Use our trademarks in a way that suggests official status or endorsement
- Register domain names or social media accounts using our trademarks
- Use our logos or branding assets in your fork

## Rationale

This policy exists to:

- Prevent user confusion about which version they are using
- Ensure users can identify official releases from Octasoft Ltd
- Protect the reputation of the original project
- Allow the open source community to freely fork and modify the code
