1. Definitions
--------------

- **Source Code** means this repository's source files, scripts, workflows,
  Docker and compose files, documentation, assets, and other materials made
  available in source form.
- **Official Artifacts** means the unmodified Docker images, release files,
  and other packaged artifacts published by the copyright holder through
  official channels such as GitHub Releases, GitHub Container Registry,
  Docker Hub, or another channel the copyright holder designates in writing.

2. Source Code: No Public License
---------------------------------

The Source Code is visible publicly for transparency and reference only.

Except for rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, these terms do **not**
grant you permission to use, execute, copy, modify, create derivative works
from, distribute, sublicense, republish, host, sell, or otherwise exploit the
Source Code.

Without separate written permission from the copyright holder, you may not use
the Source Code to build your own binaries, container images, releases,
services, or other derivative artifacts.

If this repository is hosted on a platform whose terms allow viewing or
platform-level forking, those platform permissions do not grant any broader
copyright license to the Source Code.

3. Official Releases and Docker Images: Limited Personal-Use License
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject to your compliance with these terms, the copyright holder grants you a
limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license
to download, install, store, and run unmodified Official Artifacts for your
own personal, noncommercial self-hosting, testing, and evaluation.

For clarity, this includes pulling and running the unmodified official
Immaculaterr Docker image published by the copyright holder on GHCR or another
official registry channel, solely for personal, noncommercial self-hosting,
testing, and evaluation.

This limited license does **not** permit you to:

- use Official Artifacts for a business, organization, managed service, or any
  other commercial purpose
- sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, redistribute, mirror, republish, or
  otherwise make Official Artifacts available to third parties
- modify, repackage, adapt, reverse engineer, or create derivative images or
  derivative artifacts from Official Artifacts, except to the extent a
  restriction cannot lawfully be enforced
- remove or alter copyright, trademark, attribution, or other proprietary
  notices

4. Separate Permission Required
-------------------------------

Any commercial use, redistribution, republishing, managed-service use, or
source-code use requires separate written permission from the copyright
holder.

5. Legal Exceptions
-------------------

These terms do not limit rights you may have under applicable law that cannot
be waived or restricted, such as fair use, fair dealing, or other mandatory
exceptions and defenses.

6. Termination
--------------

Any permission granted under Section 3 ends automatically if you violate these
terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the Official Artifacts and delete
all copies in your possession or control.

7. No Trademark License
-----------------------

These terms do not grant any right to use the name "Immaculaterr" or any
related logos, branding, or other trademarks, except as necessary to identify
the unmodified Official Artifacts you received from the copyright holder.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability

THE SOURCE CODE AND OFFICIAL ARTIFACTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY
OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER SHALL NOT BE
LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF
CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE
SOURCE CODE, THE OFFICIAL ARTIFACTS, OR THE USE OF OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THEM.
