For each policy area, the current laws and practices are benchmarked against the highest standard. The focus is on input data (policies and programmes), even though there is also information on output data (such as employment rates) on the MIPEX website. Thus, it clearly shows areas, in which governments need to become more active. Nevertheless, as a result, it disregards instances, in which there is a disconnect between the policies and the reality in a country.
