Privacy Policy for FreeWorkout

FreeWorkout respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the FreeWorkout mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

FreeWorkout does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our own servers.

All workout data, including:

GPS positions and routes

Distance and elevation

Activity type

Workout duration

is stored locally on your device only.

We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, identifiers, or timestamps linked to you.

2. Use of GPS / Location Data

FreeWorkout uses your device’s GPS only to record your workouts (such as running, cycling, walking, hiking, and skiing).

Location data is used only during an active workout

Location data is stored only on your device

Location data is not shared by default

You can manage location permissions at any time in your device settings.

3. Optional Elevation Correction (Open-Elevation)

FreeWorkout offers an optional feature to correct elevation data after a workout using the Open-Elevation service.

This feature:

Is disabled by default

Must be manually triggered by the user

Sends only GPS coordinates to the Open-Elevation API

Does not send personal data, identifiers, workout times, or user information

The Open-Elevation service returns elevation values for the provided coordinates, which are then stored locally on your device.

FreeWorkout does not control Open-Elevation and is not responsible for how that service processes data. Users choose whether or not to use this feature.

4. Data Storage and User Control

You have full control over your data:

All data is stored locally on your device

You can export and import workouts manually

You can delete workouts at any time

Uninstalling the app removes all stored data

5. Third-Party Services

FreeWorkout:

Does not use advertising services

Does not use analytics or tracking SDKs

Does not share data for marketing purposes

The only third-party service used is Open-Elevation, and only when explicitly initiated by the user for elevation correction.

6. Children’s Privacy

FreeWorkout does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). Since no personal data is collected or stored externally, no child data is processed.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under GDPR and CCPA, you have rights regarding your personal data.
Because FreeWorkout does not collect or store personal data on external servers:

We do not retain personal data

All workout data remains under your control on your device

Data deletion and access are handled directly by the user

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s functionality changes. Updates will be reflected with a new “Last updated” date.
