# Save Book — Privacy Policy Last updated: 17 September 2026 Save Book is a Chrome extension that shows a small card of items you have saved on the websites you choose. This policy explains what the extension does with your data. It covers the Save Book extension only. ## What Save Book stores Save Book stores only what you enter yourself in its settings page: - the site patterns (domains) you add; - the items you create for each site — the label, the value (for example a login, a code or a phone number), and whether the value is masked; - each card's state: its position on screen, whether it is collapsed, and whether it is hidden; - your theme choice — System, Light or Dark. Nothing else is collected. Save Book does not read the pages you visit, does not build a history of your browsing, and does not use analytics, cookies or tracking of any kind. ## Where it is stored All of the above is stored by Chrome in the extension's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`), inside your browser profile, on your own device. Save Book has no servers, no user accounts and no database. The extension contains no network code and makes no network requests, so your data is never transmitted to the developer or to anyone else. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising. ## What Save Book does not do - It does not read or collect the content of the pages you visit. - It does not record your browsing history, clicks, keystrokes or mouse activity. - It does not use analytics, telemetry, cookies, fingerprinting or advertisements. - It has no access to any website unless you add that site yourself. ## Permissions and clipboard - **storage** — saves the sites and items you create, in your browser profile. - **scripting** — places the card on the sites you added, and only those. Access to a specific domain is requested at the moment you add it, and is given back when you remove that site. The extension installs with access to no website at all. - **Clipboard** (not a declared permission) — a value is written to your clipboard only when you click it, so that you can paste it where you need it. Save Book never reads your clipboard. ## Security and retention Items are stored unencrypted in your browser profile — unlike Chrome's own password manager, which encrypts saved passwords with your system keychain. Anyone with access to your computer and browser profile can read them, so Save Book is best used for test and shared accounts rather than sensitive production credentials. Your data stays for as long as you keep it. You can delete any item or any site in the settings page, or clear every site, every item or everything at once there; uninstalling the extension removes all of its stored data from your browser. ## Limited Use Save Book's handling of user data is limited to its single purpose: showing the items you saved on the sites you chose. We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties; we do not use it for advertising, for determining creditworthiness or for lending; we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to that feature; and no human reads it. These commitments comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. ## Children Save Book is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them. ## Changes If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new date. ## Contact Questions about this policy: piotroszko2@gmail.com
